Instructions for Authors


Abstract

        This sample contains information on the preparation of papers for the ITS2002 proceedings. Please follow carefully the instructions provided to ensure legibility and uniformity of accepted papers. All paper submissions and handling will be done electronically.   1. Introduction

    The purpose of these instructions is to help authors produce professional-appearing papers for the Proceedings of ITS2002. This sample has been produced following the instructions given below.

  2. General Advice

    The deadline for submission of the paper, maximum of six pages, is March 31, 2002. The notification of acceptance will be mailed by May 20, 2002. The proceedings will be produced from the originals submitted. Therefore, neatness is of utmost importance. Please, review for grammatical and typographical errors prior to submitting. The paper must be written in English and submitted through e-mail its2002@npd.ufpe.br.

  3. Technical Information

    Prepare the final version of the article using the A4 size. Use font Times New Roman. If you use LaTeX, you can download the style for preparing the articles (IEEEtran.cls) and the sample file (IEEEsample2e.tex). PostScript (IEEEsample2e.ps) and PDF (IEEEsample2e.pdf) versions of the sample file are also avaliable. Just follow the instructions.

    For other text editors, the type sizes used in this instructional sheet are shown in Table 1. The papers should be prepared in double column format. Set the top margin to 37 mm and the bottom margin to 30 mm. Set the left margin to and right margins to 20 mm. The space between columns is 4 mm. The text width and height are 170 mm and 230 mm, respectively. Each column is 83 mm wide. The sections are numbered in Roman. Subsections use alphabetical ordering. A sample file, in PostScript, is available for download.

    Use single line space throughout the paper. When numbering equations, enclose numbers in parenthesis and flush right. Figures should be included as part of the text whenever possible, or grouped together at end of text, and should be drawn in black.
